Secondary School to Receive Much-Needed Rebuild
The School
Shree Shiksha Bodhini Secondary school, towards the south of Nepal, is a two-hour drive from our Area Welfare Centre in Chitwan. Around 370 students attend the school, some walking for over an hour each day to get there.

The Assessment
Staff from our Area Welfare Centre in Chitwan visited the school and found that eight of the existing classroom buildings were derelict and others were in need of refurbishment.

“Most of the classrooms are old. While we have tried to maintain them with repairs, we really need a sturdy and new building. The earthquake in 2015 has also damaged the old structures.”
Plans are made
After a full assessment, the team in Nepal is planning to construct a new school building consisting of twelve new classrooms. We will refurbish the existing building of five classrooms, construct a new toilet block with water supply and hand washing facilities, and supply new classroom furniture.

“The team came to carry out and assess our needs. We are really happy! We are incredibly lucky. Thank you very much.”
