Race to Raise Funds: Borrow Our Doko Baskets

Here at The Gurkha Welfare Trust, we have a stock of traditional Nepali Doko baskets which are used at our annual Doko race challenges, generating significant income for the charity. At other times, the Doko Baskets are available for serving military personnel to borrow for races or Nepali culture days, under the following conditions;

Terms and Conditions

• The baskets can only be loaned for fundraising purposes, exclusively generating income for The Gurkha Welfare Trust and raising awareness about our cause. As the baskets are part of our charity resources, we ask that they are not used for split fundraising with other organisations.

• You must arrange for the baskets to be collected and returned to our offices in Salisbury at your own expense. When arranging the baskets’ transportation, please remember that they are very valuable to us and should be transported carefully (not via courier).

• Baskets must be collected and returned during our working hours (8:30am – 5pm, Monday –Friday), unless otherwise agreed.

• Should the baskets be damaged when on loan, you will be liable for the cost of repairing or replacing the baskets.

• If the baskets get wet in your possession, you must make sure to air them and return them to us dry to avoid the cost of repairing or replacing damp or decayed baskets.

• Before returning the baskets, please remove any signage, race numbers and strap padding, to ensure they are returned in their original condition. However, repairing the baskets, ie. replacing/mending of straps should they need it, is welcomed and appreciated.

• We are only able to loan out a maximum of 100 baskets at a time. If you need more, please contact us with plenty of notice for approval on a case-by-case basis.

• Submitting a loan form does not guarantee your requested date. We strongly encourage booking dokos as early as possible to avoid disappointment. It’s best to secure your booking before confirming your event date or promoting it to participants.
