Honouring the Educators of Shree Saraswati Secondary School

This World Teachers’ Day, we are shining a light on the dedicated educators behind the classroom doors at Shree Saraswati Secondary School. These are the individuals turning a newly built school into a vibrant centre of learning, hope, and ambition.
“A great teacher does not simply teach a lesson; they light a spark that continues to shape lives, strengthen communities, and inspire generations.”
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, the children of Sukurdung now have safe, modern, and earthquake-resilient spaces to learn. But while bricks, mortar, and new facilities provide the necessary foundation, it is the school’s 16 teachers who bring these spaces to life every single day.
Achieving Excellent Results
The impact of having dedicated teachers working in a supportive environment is already reflected in the academic achievements of pupils.
Secondary Education Examination (SEE) Highlights: Out of 24 pupils who sat this year, 22 passed the main exam, and one passed the supplementary exam. While modern, safe facilities provide a far better environment for study, new classrooms alone do not deliver exam success. Academic achievements are the result of hard work, perseverance, family support, and, above all, the persistent commitment of the teaching staff.
Leading with Dedication and Purpose

For Head Teacher Tham Parkash Jaishi, the updated facilities bring both immense pride and a renewed sense of responsibility to guide his pupils toward a brighter future.
“I hope the infrastructure built with support from GWT will bring good fortune to our school. We, the teachers, will also work hard and give our best to show strong performance from our school.”
Tham Parkash Jaishi, Head Teacher
This World Teachers’ Day, we celebrate Mr. Jaishi and the entire teaching staff at Shree Saraswati Secondary School. Their tireless dedication ensures that every child who walks through their doors has the encouragement, knowledge, and opportunity to break the cycle of disadvantage and reach their full potential.
