HOLTS Auctioneers support the GWT through Legacy Programme

HOLTS Auctioneers, the country’s leading auctioneers of ‘Fine Modern and Antique Guns’, have established a charity lots programme where the proceeds of clients’ guns, accessories and related items can be donated to The Gurkha Welfare Trust.

HOLTS are long-standing supporters of The Gurkha Welfare Trust and Platinum members of our Business Club. The auctioneers held a Charity Clay Shoot & Auction in 2021 on the stunning Royal Sandringham Estate by gracious permission of Her Majesty The Queen. The event helped to raise an incredible £61,000 for The Gurkha Welfare Trust.

The charity lots programme has been a great success so far, with spring auction sales exceeding their estimates in raising funds for the Trust, and more items already being catalogued for the summer auction.

“The market for antique firearms of all kinds remains buoyant as it has done for a number of years but it is joined by renewed interest in both classic and modern air rifles,” said a representative from HOLTS.

If you would like the GWT to benefit from the value of any guns or related items now surplus to requirements at no cost, via the HOLTS Charitable & Legacy Lots Programme (or to discuss a gun legacy), please contact David Thurgood on 01297 306 123 or email.

The next round of HOLTS UK valuation days are now underway. The days are hosted by members of HOLTS staff, who will be able to tell you something about the item you have brought along.

“We are always keen to hear of family or related provenance; it is often of interest and can have a highly beneficial impact on the value,” a HOLTS representative said. “We will then suggest a realistic catalogue estimate and reserve (if you are minded to sell) together with a likely hammer price.”
