Corporate support from Veedon Fleece

The Gurkha Welfare Trust is delighted to be entering a new partnership with Veedon Fleece, a custom weaving house founded in 1990 and creating bespoke hand-knotted rugs and carpets in their own workshops in Nepal.

Veedon Fleece is driven by two guiding principles:
• To stop the use of child labour within the industry.
• To change the industry practice by making unique carpets of a superior quality that would last for generations.

Veedon Fleece has supported The Gurkha Welfare Trust in the past with the manufacture of rugs for our two Residential Homes for vulnerable Gurkha veterans and widows in Pokhara and Dharan.

The new partnership sees Veedon Fleece donating to the Trust for every supporter who purchases one of their bespoke rugs or carpets. To view their extensive collection please click here.

“Veedon Fleece have been long-standing supporters of The Gurkha Welfare Trust, making a huge contribution to the interior design of our Residential Homes in Nepal with the manufacture of beautiful rugs. This new partnership will enable people to experience the exceptional quality from a product that is made ethically in Nepal and at the same time helps support our vital work.”

David Watson- Corporate Partnership Officer at GWT

“We see The Gurkha Welfare Trust as the most effective way to get funding in place and efficiently utilised, which not only benefits the ex Gurkhas and their families but Nepalese communities as a whole.”
