All Donations Doubled with The Big Christmas Give 2025

The Challenge of Getting Care

For over 200 years, Gurkhas have fought by our side, yet life after service remains incredibly tough for many. Nepal’s rugged, mountainous terrain and poor road infrastructure make accessing medical care extremely difficult for people in remote villages. While advanced hospitals are concentrated in urban centres like Kathmandu, qualified medical professionals frequently emigrate for better wages, leaving rural areas with a chronic shortage of healthcare workers.

Our Commitment to Dignity

As our Gurkha veterans and their widows age, their medical needs naturally increase. The Gurkha Welfare Trust is committed to ensuring they grow old in comfort and with dignity. Our dedicated field teams regularly travel to the remote homes of our pensioners to provide essential check-ups, medicine, vaccinations, and rehabilitative care. We also hold medical clinics across the country in our 21 Area Welfare Centres.

Double Your Impact This December

This December, we have a crucial opportunity to make a real difference to the well-being of these brave men and women through The Big Christmas Give.

Between 2nd and 9th December, every donation made through The Big Give will be doubled, meaning your contribution will have twice the impact. With your help, we can make sure that no Gurkha veteran is left to face illness or old age alone.
