Meet The Team – Pratik Gurung

Our water projects bring clean water to some of the most remote regions of Nepal, piping clean, safe water straight to villagers’ doorsteps.

It is essential that each of our projects is planned thoroughly and monitored throughout each and every stage.

Meet Pratik

Our Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, Pratik Gurung has been with the Trust for six years. Pratik oversees our community projects, working closely with a team of project managers, engineers, and community representatives to ensure that each project is successful, effective and efficient.

The man with the plan

For each project Pratik creates a detailed project plan outlining  the goals, objectives, and metrics for success.

Once the project is underway he conducts regular site visits,  assessing progress, collecting data, and identifying any potential issues.

After completion of a project, Pratik will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to measure the impact of the project and identifying areas for improvement.

A Legacy of Service

“Since my grandfather served in the Gurkhas, he used to tell us stories about when he was training and battling with the enemies. I always used to be fascinated by his stories. While learning about GWT, I got to know about the impactful work benefitting the rural people and Gurkha veterans. I also want to contribute to the organisation that benefits my grandfather and his friends.”

A Passion for Making a Difference

“My favourite part of job is carrying out monitoring visits where I can discuss and interact with people. I can travel, explore new places, enjoy the local food and culture. My favourite moment is when I can witness the real impact of our work on people’s faces – mainly the smiles! I have 100% satisfaction with my work.”

Pratik recently carried out a monitoring visit to a water project in the village of Okhaldunga. The village now has a clean water supply and a tap stand for every household.  Pratik passed on the message from one of the beneficiaries, Gurkha widow Purnamaya Rai.

“I feel good about the work. At first, it was hard to fetch water, but now, it is just nearby my house. Previously, there were also issues with water quality and we did not have a proper water flow system. But now, the tank looks so pretty and nice. I have got a new house, a water supply system, and a good medical check up and medication. What matters the most is, I am happy right now.”
