Living with Dignity: Care at the Rambahadur Limbu VC Residential Home

The Rambahadur Limbu VC Residential Home in Dharan was officially opened in March 2014. The second of our two Residential facilities, it provides comprehensive, compassionate care to Gurkha veterans and widows who have no one to look after them. The home’s primary mission is to ensure that residents live their final years with the dignity, comfort, and companionship they deserve.
Comprehensive Care and Support
Named in honour of Rambahadur Limbu VC, our Dharan Residence is currently home to 19 Gurkha veterans and widows.
The services provided at the home are designed to support the complete well-being of each resident and include:
– Comprehensive Care: Residents receive 24/7 care and support, including safe accommodation, nutritious meals tailored to their needs, and personal assistance with daily tasks.
– Medical Support: An on-site doctor and medical team provide round-the-clock medical care, from routine check-ups and chronic disease management to wound care and physiotherapy. This ensures that any health issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
– Mental and Social Well-being: Beyond physical care, the home focuses on mental health and social engagement. Staff organise a variety of activities to combat loneliness, including local cultural trips, celebrations of festivals, and sports events.
