Join our new Book Club
Twelve months of military history, courage, and Gurkha heritage.
Welcome to the Gurkha Reading Circle, our brand-new initiative created for book lovers who are drawn to powerful stories of history, resilience, leadership, and human endurance.
Free to join, the Gurkha Reading Circle invites readers to explore the extraordinary legacy of the Gurkhas through carefully selected monthly book recommendations.
Each month, members will be introduced to a book that uncovers either fascinating history of the Gurkhas, legendary bravery in battle, rich culture, traditions, or breathtaking landscapes of the Gurkhas home country, Nepal. The books we feature delve into tales of war and conflict, first-hand accounts from those who lived and served through extraordinary circumstances, and deeply personal stories that reveal what it truly means to remain resilient under pressure. These stories are not only about military life, but about values that translate into everyday living, offering insight into discipline, courage, mental strength, and how lessons forged in extreme environments can be applied to real-life challenges.
To make your reading experience more engaging, the Gurkha Reading Circle offers the following for each monthly book:
– Clear guidance on where to purchase or access each monthly book
– Discussion questions to take to your own book club or reading group
– Great fundraising ideas should you want to make this into a fundraiser
Whether you are reading alone or as part of a group, this initiative aims to educate, inspire, and connect readers through storytelling. Open to everyone, from history enthusiasts and military readers to those simply curious about human resilience and leadership, no prior knowledge is required, just a love of reading and learning.
