Supporting the GWT

If you're interested in supporting elderly Gurkha veterans and their communities, we'd be delighted to work with your charitable Trust or Foundation.

You can donate towards our general funds or, if you prefer, we may be able to offer a bespoke programme to meet your funding criteria. For any partnership, we'll keep you updated as per your reporting requirements.

How you can help

There are many ways you can help us. You might wish to fund a mobile doctor, who visits ailing veterans and widows in their remote homes. Perhaps you'd like to help with the running costs of one of our Residential Homes, housing the neediest of our pensioners.

Following 2015's devastating earthquakes, we've expanded our Schools Programme and are building dozens of projects in affected areas. We'd love to work with you to make a tangible impact in the Himalayan foothills.

However you choose to support us, you can rest assured that you'll be helping to repay our debt of honour to thousands of old Gurkha soldiers.

Our Residential Homes

The Trust is grateful to The Michael Uren Foundation for funding the construction of our unique Residential Homes in Pokhara and Dharan.

The homes provide round-the-clock care for 52 of our most vulnerable Gurkha veterans and widows, who would otherwise face a dangerous and isolated life in the hills.

Our approach combines the best of Western geriatric support with an Eastern philosophy of respect for the elderly. The focus is on sociable living among both staff and residents.

Queen Mary's Roehampton Trust helps to fund the running costs of our residential homes. We're equally grateful for all that they've done for our pensioners for over twenty years.

Special thanks

We'd like to highlight the following Trusts and Foundations for their invaluable support of our work.

  • The C A Redfern Charitable Trust
