Meet our newest Platinum Business Club member: Grief UK

Our newest Platinum Partner

The Gurkha Welfare Trust is pleased to announce our latest Platinum Level Business Club member, Grief UK. The company has a special connection to the Gurkhas via their Managing Director, Carole Henderson.

Grief UK is dedicated to helping the greatest number of grieving people in the shortest amount of time. At the heart of their services is the Grief Recovery Method, the only evidence-based grief programme in the world.  They also provide training for those who wish to help others move beyond bereavement, divorce, and other losses.

A special connection

Carole Henderson, Managing Director of Grief UK, grew up hearing stories about the bravery and skill of the Gurkhas. Her father served in World War Two and fought alongside Gurkha soldiers.

“I’ve been a supporter of the Gurkha Welfare Trust personally for some years,” said Carole. “They do amazing work both in Nepal and here in the UK and it was a chance comment a little while ago that made me stop and think about how I could do more.

“Grief UK has supported dozens of charities over the years with subsidised training, resources and more and this will continue. However, I wanted us to make a commitment to make a big difference with an organisation whose values aligned with ours and are both UK and international like us. The more I looked at the work of the GWT, the more obvious the match.”

Upcoming events

We look forward to collaborating with Grief UK on many endeavours, including hosting volunteers at our fundraising events, sharing resources, and receiving training from their team of Certified Specialists.

Grief UK has graciously agreed to sponsor our Carols by Candlelight event later this year, where families will enjoy a night of choral classics, professional performances, and festive readings.
