Your support is crucial in enabling us to continue our work in years to come. A Will is one of the simplest ways to ensure that your wishes are followed and that the future of your family and friends – in fact all the people and causes you care about most – are provided for. Having visited Nepal on a number of occasions, my wife and I both know how important the Trust’s work is, so when we last updated our wills we decided to include the Trust Mr B, Northern Ireland The difference your gift can make The Gurkha Welfare Trust is the leading charity for Gurkha welfare. It was established to ensure that retired Gurkhas and their widows could live in security and with dignity. Today, we support thousands of ex-Gurkhas with no form of regular income. The Welfare Pension we provide ensures that they avoid unimaginable poverty. The Trust’s work has grown over the years to include a first class medical programme, hardship grants and community projects in rural villages. These include clean water systems and sanitation schemes as well as a comprehensive schools programme. The Nepal earthquakes Following the terrible earthquakes in 2015, we have also begun an extensive response that will see us build and repair hundreds of homes and community projects across Nepal over the coming years. This programme will leave an indelible legacy in the Himalayan foothills where our Gurkha veterans live. It's how we continue to repay our debt of honour to these loyal soldiers. We will be here as long as all our veterans and widows need us, but we can only do that with your help. Our pledge to you We value every gift no matter how large or small Your gift will be used in the best way to help Gurkha veterans in need. But if you specify a particular area of our work that you want your gift to fund, we will honour your wish We will respect your privacy and will handle your enquiry with sensitivity and respect You don’t have to tell us when you decide to give a gift in your Will, but we’d love to hear from you if you want to let us know about it.
