SUMMARY:The Doko Challenge South 2026
DESCRIPTION:Put yourself to the test\, Gurkha style! Take on our annual 5km Doko Challenge South. \nThis unique event sees participants running in the footsteps of the ‘Bravest of the Brave’.  Based on a pivotal part of the Gurkha selection process\, we challenge you to take on a 5km cross-country course through Wimbledon Common with a weighted Nepali Doko basket strapped to your back.  A hugely popular event that always attracts a fantastic turnout from our supporters\, serving Gurkhas\, and military participants alike! \nYou can choose a weight for your Doko basket of 5kg\, 10kg or 15kg\, and can run\, jog\, or walk the route.  Those looking to push themselves can aim to beat the Gurkha recruitment time of 46 minutes\, or even the course record of 19 minutes 30 seconds! \nStart Line: \nRichardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields\nRoehampton Vale\nLondon SW15 3PQ \nDate\nSunday 14th June 2026 \nKey timings\n11:15 Registration & Doko basket collection\n12:15 Welcome & warm-up\n12:30 Race begins\n13:45 Finishers group photo \nREGISTRATION IS OPEN. \nRegistration fee: Early Bird entry £17.50 per person\, available until Midnight on 6 April 2026.  Standard entry £22.50 per person. \nThe registration deadline for standard entry is Midnight on Sunday 7 June\, but places are limited and we may close registration early if all places are filled. \nRegister now \n  \nIncluded in your registration:\n∙ Doko basket for the race\, complete with your chosen weight. DESCRIPTION:Golf clubs at the ready for the annual Gurkha Golf Day!\nReturning once again to the beautiful Bristol and Clifton Golf Club\, this year’s competition will take place on Thursday\, 18 June 2026. \nTake part with family\, friends\, or colleagues in teams of four\, and take on the 18-hole course\, in support of Gurkha veterans and their wider communities in Nepal. \nStart the day with a breakfast roll and coffee before heading out on the course to tackle a variety of challenges\, including nearest the pin\, longest drive\, and “on the green in one”\, to name but a few. Beware\, bunker fines will apply but you can always purchase Mulligans to get yourself out of trouble! \nOn your return to the clubhouse\, tuck into a delicious curry lunch\, followed by the raffle draw\, prize-giving\, and a chance to bid on some of the day’s best items in our auction. \nRegister now
