What else can you do?

You can support ex-Gurkhas in lots of other ways that benefit you personally and can even help the environment at the same time.

From shopping online and recycling printer cartridges to selling unwanted books and DVDs or even your old car – see below for ways you can help ensure a better life for our Gurkha veterans.

Our partner organisations:

Giveacar

Give a Car is a not-for-profit social enterprise that raises money for charities by accepting donations of old vehicles. If you have an old or unwanted car, you could use it to support the Trust's work by scrapping or recycling it through Give a Car.

Give a Car will accept any vehicle (even if it's not roadworthy!) as well as ride-on lawnmowers, farm machinery, vans, motorbikes and lorries. They will also collect vehicles from anywhere in the UK, free of charge.

Please help us to raise even more money to help ex-Gurkhas and their dependants. Visit their website to book a collection or call 0207 736 4242 and reference The Gurkha Welfare Trust.

The Recycling Factory

Working in partnership, GWT and The Recycling Factory aim to raise vital funds through recycling unwanted inkjet cartridges.

The Recycling Factory will donate up to £3.50 to us for every inkjet cartridge that can be successfully recycled – a cartridge which would otherwise end up in harmful landfill sites.

The recycling scheme is a simple way of raising funds without having to give financially. To date, we've raised over £6,000 together and we hope supporters will continue to be generous in donating their cartridges. To start recycling now, simply visit their site and print off your freepost label.

For more information on how you can turn waste into invaluable funds for the Trust, call The Recycling Factory on freephone number 0800 091 0696 or email gwt@trf-uk.com.

Give as you Live

Raise money for the Trust simply by shopping online at one of over 3,000 retailers.

Give as you Live works with many of the top retailers – including Amazon, John Lewis and Expedia – to turn a percentage of every penny you spend online into a donation to GWT.

The retailer makes the donation on your behalf, so it won't cost you a penny extra. All you have to do is sign up and select us as your chosen charity through the Give as you Live website.

You can either shop through their site, which boasts new price comparison technology, or install the Shopping Bar to your browser. It means you'll never miss a donation by forgetting to shop through Give as you Live. There's also a Mobile App so you can give on the go.

Recycling for Good Causes

GWT has teamed up with Recycling for Good Causes to turn unwanted jewellery, banknotes or used stamps into much needed funds for Gurkha veterans, and help to preserve the environment in the process.

If you'd like to send in your jewellery or banknotes, simply pop your items into your own envelope or jiffy bag and post free of charge to:

Freepost RSXA-GJBY-ARRZ
The Gurkha Welfare Trust
Unit 14, Amber Business Village
Amber Close
Tamworth
B77 4RP

If you would like to help GWT by recycling stamps, carefully rip the postage stamp from the used envelope, being careful that you don’t damage the stamp, and once you have a collection send them to:

The Gurkha Welfare Trust
PO Box 16992
Sutton Coldfield
B73 9YA

For more information on how you can turn unwanted items into a donation, you can visit their website or contact Recycling for Good Causes on 0800 633 5323 or info@recyclingforgoodcauses.org.
