North Yorkshire Nepalese Community Raises funds for the Gurkha Welfare Trust
Lieutenant (Ret'd) Amarsing Thapa, Chairman of North Yorkshire Nepalese Community and seven members of his local ex-Gurkha servicemen community, helped North Yorkshire branch of the Trust in its recent fundraising effort in Catterick.
The Catterick Race Course stages a market every Sunday and allows one local charity each Sunday to collect donations in buckets from members of the public entering and leaving the market. Lieutenant (Ret'd) Amarsing Thapa and his colleagues helped to raise over £800 at the Racecourse on Sunday 9th October 2011.
