One World One Chutney- Calling all Chutney Enthusiasts.

Every Gurkha knows that a steaming plate of bhat, or Gurkha curry, is incomplete without a good dollop of chutney. There is therefore no more fitting cause for the inaugural One World One Chutney festival to lend its support to than The Gurkha Welfare Trust. One World One Chutney is on 22 and 23 October at Neidpath Castle, Peeblesshire, with all proceeds raised going to the Trust. Entries are now open for the festival's chutney competition. Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity for your chutney to be crowned Britain's best.

One World, One Chutney is being launched by Scots chutney enthusiasts Lulu Benson and Charlotte Fairbairn.

The festival promises a combination of food, words, fun and wit - tomato-hurling from the ramparts, chutney-making demonstrations in the medieval banqueting hall, interviews with food writers, international chutney awards, children's activities in the garden (including pumpkin-rolling), stalls selling everything from cheeses, cured meats, aprons, jam-making kit, mustards, oils, vinegars and condiments galore to MCAs (miscellaneous chutney accessories).

Live music will be performed throughout both days and festival goers will be able to while time away in the castle courtyard, feasting on hot food laced - of course - with lashings of chutney.
