Michelle Jurd Memorial Ball
The second Michelle Jurd Memorial Ball is taking place on Saturday 26th November 2011 at the Netherwood Hotel, Grange over Sands. The Ball will raise money for Service Charities, including The Gurkha Welfare Trust and local schools.
In 2009 Squadron Leader Michelle Jurd was tragically killed in a car accident. Her widower, former Gurkha Officer, Neil Jurd and their young children wanted to celebrate her memory in a fashion befitting her lively and generous spirit.
Last year, with the help of Michelle's friends and the people of Grange over Sands, a Gala Ball raised a phenomenal £16,000 (see photo right) and this year Neil and his committee are hosting another wonderful event.
The evening promises to be fantastic occasion with great entertainment in a formal, yet friendly atmosphere. Tickets are £60 each and include dinner and table wine. Tables for groups of up to 10 are available and the Netherwood are offering rooms at reduced rates for ball guests - £90 for a double, including breakfast, £65 for a single. Last year the ball sold out, so it's worth booking early.
