You can sponsor one of our welfare pensioners or their widows for just £20 per month. As well as receiving details and a photograph of your welfare pensioner, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped provide a proud servant of the Crown with dignity and security. Should you have an affinity to a particular Gurkha regiment or corps please let us know and we will try our best to allocate an appropriate welfare pensioner to benefit from your sponsorship.
Each month The Gurkha Welfare Trust provides a lifeline for 9,000 Gurkha veterans or their widows.
The brave and loyal Gurkha fought for our freedom in the Second World War and every major conflict since. For £20 a month, you can help repay our debt of honour to these famously courageous people. Most are now in their 80s and 90s, too old to fight for survival, to proud to beg for charity. A welfare pension is not a handout, it is the least we owe them.
What's more, every sponsored pension allows The Gurkha Welfare Trust to direct funds to developing its vital programmes like the medical scheme and the annual winter fuel allowance.
